NEW in 2026 at the SLE Rodeo
This year, the SLE Rodeo invites guests to arrive early and enjoy three brand-new fan experiences: the SLE Rodeo Fan Zone in the Teague Arena, the Kids Corral in the livestock barns, and the new Ag Education Barn at the Old Creative Living Center on the grounds. The SLE Rodeo Fan Zone is designed to build energy, bring people together, and create unforgettable memories before the action starts. Guests can enjoy a mechanical bull, a beer garden, and a lineup of entertainment and surprise features throughout the weekend. One highlight is a live performance by Alabama-based country and southern rock artist Marcus Frazier, who will bring his signature mix of laid-back vibes and high-energy favorites to the Fan Zone on Sunday, March 22, from 11:00 AM to 1:30 PM.
The Kids Corral centralizes kid-friendly western games and activities in one dedicated space near the Fan Zone. The Ag Education Barn adds a hands-on learning component focused on farming and where food comes from, with opportunities to engage with agriculture educators and interactive exhibits.
It’s the perfect place to kick off your rodeo experience, with live music, interactive fun for kids, and a festive atmosphere for all ages. The family-friendly area will open 3 hours before each PRCA Rodeo performance and is free for all rodeo ticket holders. So get your rodeo tickets now! Spend the afternoon sipping a drink, testing your skills on the mechanical bull, or simply enjoying the music and good company while your little wranglers burn off some energy before the big show. The SLE Rodeo Fan Zone is a must-visit experience. Plan to arrive early, bring the whole family, and get into the rodeo spirit before the main event begins.

What is the SLE Rodeo? (And Why You Should Go!)
If you've never been to a rodeo, you might wonder what exactly happens at one. We'd describe it as part sporting event, part festival, and part live-action adventure! At the SLE Rodeo, you'll witness thrilling bull riding, barrel racing, roping, and steer wrestling as professional athletes from the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) compete for top prizes.

But that's just the beginning. It's a vibrant celebration of agriculture, community, and tradition, offering a unique opportunity to connect with real cowboys and cowgirls while getting up close and personal with amazing animals, everything from bucking broncos to adorable sheep. This year, one of the standout features is the hands-on Ag Education Barn experience, created in collaboration with Auburn University College of Agriculture. Inside Garrett Coliseum, next to the Fan Zone and Kids Corral, both kids and adults can dive into interactive exhibits that showcase Alabama's rich agricultural heritage. This is more than just entertainment; it’s a chance to learn and appreciate the traditions that bind us.
Adding a splash of humor and heart to the event, Dusty Myers, the SLE Rodeo Clown, will keep audiences laughing during every performance. With his sharp wit and fearless antics, Dusty’s contagious energy promises to bring joy and excitement to the arena, ensuring everyone has a great time.

Beyond the Rodeo: Community Engagement, Youth Development, and Military Appreciation
The SLE Rodeo events bring people together through hands-on interactions, inspiring stories, and meaningful initiatives, creating a strong bond among families, competitors, and everyone who contributes to making it a success. It’s a welcoming place where the spirit of togetherness truly shines.

Since 1958, the SLE Rodeo has been a champion for Alabama's youth, dedicated to preserving the traditions of farming and ranching. The rodeo also opens doors for young people to thrive and achieve their dreams. In March 2024 alone:
- Over 1,100 kids took part in the SLE Rodeo and Livestock Week events.
- $75,000 in scholarships and awards were granted to young agricultural leaders.
- 300 youth contestants showcased their rodeo skills, with nearly 250 junior exhibitors presenting their livestock.
- A livestock judging contest attracted 434 young competitors from 10 states.
One of the most inspiring individuals at this year's rodeo is Mateo, a remarkable young boy who has overcome incredible challenges. Born at just 23 weeks, Mateo's journey is filled with perseverance and love. Despite facing hurdles like cerebral palsy, epilepsy, and vision impairment, he radiates joy and resilience.
The rodeo also takes pride in honoring military families by offering special ticket discounts. During the event, a Veterans Honor Ceremony will be held to acknowledge the dedication and sacrifices of those who have served our country. The SLE Rodeo continuously collaborates with organizations that support military families, ensuring these heroes and their loved ones have a place to connect and enjoy a weekend filled with fun and appreciation.

Mark your calendar! The SLE Rodeo takes place from March 20 -22 at Garrett Coliseum in Montgomery. With high-energy rodeo action, adorable animals, delicious food, and heartwarming moments, it’s the perfect way to welcome spring in Alabama.
