This event features inspirational stories and educational initiatives to inspire community engagement and commitment to social change. It also serves as a platform for unity, reflecting Dr. King's vision of a "beloved community." The celebration encourages social responsibility by recognizing individuals and organizations that contribute to community betterment. MLK Memorial Breakfast

2026 marks the 30th anniversary of the Martin Luther King, Jr. (MLK) Memorial Scholarship Breakfast, proudly hosted by the AUL Education Foundation. Since the AUL Education Foundation's inception in 1997, it has steadfastly sponsored this annual event in honor of its late fraternity brother. Over the years, the proceeds from the MLK Memorial Breakfast have been instrumental in providing financial assistance to more than 160 deserving students. This enduring commitment, spanning 1997 to 2021, underscores their dedication to supporting educational endeavors and carrying forward the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Join this celebration of Dr. King's life and achievements while contributing to the educational aspirations of deserving individuals.

Come cheer on the winners as they take the spotlight, share their dreams, and ride through the streets of Montgomery in this iconic event. 

 

MLK DAY Parade

Montgomery will celebrate Martin Luther King Day with a vibrant parade downtown. The procession will kick off at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, January 19, 2026, with the assembly starting at 7:30 a.m. sharp at Troy University Montgomery. The entire community is invited to participate, so bring a float, car, truck, or motorcycle, or join as a walking group; your presence will contribute to the richness of this celebratory event. Come together to honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and showcase the unity and diversity that strengthen our community. 

 

MLK Birthday Bash

Historic Centennial Hill - 300 block of Jackson Street

Immediately following the MLK Day Parade, the Community Birthday Bash and Family Fun Day will take place. This event aims to unite the city by celebrating Dr. King's enduring legacy of justice, peace, and equity. It will feature family-friendly activities and informative educational resources, encouraging a spirit of togetherness and reflection on the principles Dr. King passionately advocated. Attendees can enjoy free food, cake, ice cream, and live music.
